The Journey

I am someone who can relate to this very much. I was always saying to my self I can’t wait till I finish college then everything will all be better or even just after I got engaged I was saying can’t wait till my wedding is over and done with. I was never one to enjoy the different journey’s in my life.

Once I started to realised that you only have one life and how important it is to live in the present moment, it not only helped with my anxiety but also enabled me to enjoy the journey.

Here are some ways that can help you to enjoy the journey:

Gratitude comes from being grateful for the things you already have in your life. Your friends and family, the roof over your head, the food in your fridge. Try to find something everyday that you are thankful for, whether it’s big or small, by telling the people around how much you appreciate them, you will find yourself living a much happier life.

Commitment is not only about setting goals in your life and sticking to them it is also about committing to the things you promised you would say you would do. This might be promising you will take the dog a walk or you will promise to come and visit your friend. It is about putting in the effort to make sure anything you are committed to happens.

Spend time with people you enjoy spending time with and people who also enjoy spending time with you. There is no point wasting your time with people who are not committed to being with you. Appreciate your relationships and be a true friend without judgement.

Continuing to learn

It is important as part of your journey that your always open to learning something new. Whether that be learning to drive or something your really passionate about.

Multitasking is something we all probably do at one time or another but this causes you to become more tired and stops you from living in the present moment.

Life is a balance between family, friends, work, hobbies and you time. It is really all about being able to find that balance to help you enjoy life’s journey.

Family first

I am someone who is very close to my family and I have always said family first. Spending time with loved ones is so important and not something you should take for granted. Just the smallest of minutes together can make the biggest difference.

Spending time travelling helps to open up your mind into new and exciting things and also helps you to appreciate what you already have back at home.
